I am a 22-year-old male and suffering from post-acne scars. There are about 10-12 scars and one or two acne breakouts. I tried creams for two months but found very little results. What would you suggest as I am feeling very low on confidence?
The first thing to do with an acne skin is to stop the spots occurring as this will only lead to further scarring. I recommend Nlite laser treatments (3 at 4 week intervals) to prevent further breakouts, then a skin peel to lessen the appearance of the scarring. Any deeper pitted scars could be treated by injecting a temporary filler such as Restylane, to fill them in to the depth of the surrounding skin. This lasts for around 6 months. A good skin regime will generally improve the appearance of the complexion and therefore remaining scarring is less noticeable.
