What prompted you to have the treatment?
I have been unhappy with my appearance for a long time. I felt there was a lot of room for improvement. It got to the point that every time I looked in the mirror I felt my face was getting worse; I was looking much older and more tired and whatever creams or lotions I bought there was nothing that I could do to improve the situation.
Who carried out the procedure and what was their opinion at the consultation?
Dr Sam Robson of Temple Aesthetics carried out the procedure. She suggested that by lifting my cheeks and restoring the volume that had been there when I was younger with a temporary dermal filler called Teosyal, I would feel happier with my appearance.
How was the experience?
Surprisingly, I found the whole experience to be very relaxing and quite painless. Right from the beginning I felt very safe and trusted Sam. She spent a lot of time explaining what was involved with the treatment and she showed me pictures of the sort of results she had previously achieved using Teosyal. I felt confident that I was making the right choice of practitioner and procedure.
How long did it take?
The actual injection procedure took about 10-15 minutes but with the preceding assessment, consultation and discussion afterwards I spent about an hour in the clinic. Sam advised taking the augmentation gradually so I had two separate visits for the cheeks and another one for the naso-labial lines. The first visit lasted about an hour and the other two follow-up visits were a bit shorter (about 45 minutes) but that was because we had time to chat too!
How many injections did you have?
It was probably about eight to ten in total but it really did not seem many at all. I think the local anaesthetic cream really helped.
Did you have to take any medication after it was done?
Sam had advised me to take arnica beforehand I did this both before for a couple of days and afterwards but I didn't need any painkillers.
Are you happy with the treatment?
It has been absolutely brilliant. In fact, I was so delighted at the results that I felt very emotional. I have no regrets whatsoever.
Would you have it repeated?
Yes. For sure. Sam has told me that it should last between 9-12 months and I will definitely be back for a repeat treatment.
