What prompted you to have the treatment?
During my teenage years I began extreme dieting which deprived my body of healthy nutrients. I was oblivious to the damage I had caused until it became visible on my face in the form of acne and excessive facial hair. I decided to go for laser hair removal because the excessive hair growth I had made me stand out from my peers for all the wrong reasons.
Who carried out the procedure and what was their opinion at the consultation?
My consultation was with Bianca Simpson at Re-Nu Body Clinic. I was told that I had the best type of hair for the laser and therefore would have a good end result.
How was the experience?
I enjoyed the treatment on my chin as I could see a reduction in the hair growth and it wasn't as painful as having it on my face and neck. The laser left the skin on my neck red for about 24 hours, but my practitioner reassured me that this was perfectly normal as the neck area can be slightly more sensitive.
How long did it take?
Four treatments (which took less than 15 minutes each time) on my chin were enough to kill the hair follicles. However, I required eight treatments for my face and neck.
Did you have to take any medication after it was done?
I was told to apply Savlon and wear SPF 50.
What were the immediate results?
I am very happy the results I have got on my chin as the hair there was very thick before I started treatment.
Are you happy with the treatment?
Re-Nu Clinic, for me, has certainly lived up to its slogan. I'm overwhelmed by the compliments I receive and I can now happily stand in front of the mirror being comfortable in my skin. I have now had other treatments with Re-Nu Body Clinic - Dermaroller, medical microdermabrasion and TCA Peels - to deal with my acne.
