A new skincare range, Perfection, aims to tackle pigmentation problems at a cellular level
Many people suffer from a skin pigmentation disorder at some point in their lives and they can lead to embarrassment and low self esteem.
Pigmentation is a result of the distribution of melanic pigments in the skin, hair follicles and eyes and the causes of pigmentary deviations are varied.
Genetic pigmentation
The worldwide population contains a great genetic diversity in terms of skin pigmentation. According to the population, skin colour corresponds to a darker or lighter pigmentation and a darker or lighter shade situated between two extremes: very light and very dark.
Pigmentation from UV rays
Pigmentation contains a natural self-protection mechanism. For each individual, the colour of the skin varies according to the strength of radiation of ultra-violet rays.
Pigmentation due to age
With age, darker coloured areas or even very dark spots appear on the skin, in particular on the face or hands. These marks are due to a high concentration of melanin in the keratinocytes of the epidermis.
The solution
Until now, the only cosmetic means of fighting hyperpigmentation was to slow down the process by inhibiting tyrosinase and lightening the skin surface with various whitening agents. Ericson Laboratoire have discovered a totally innovative, new way of dealing with the problem, by acting on the DNA genes contained in the melanocytes nucleus.
A new active ingredient, O.D.A.white®, has been designed to modulate the ‘information carried by the genes' to prevent the formation of melanin. They have selected this new ingredient as the ‘master' ingredient in their new lightening treatment. Coupled with this is the integration of another innovative active ingredient, LUMISKIN®, in their cosmetic formulas, which is designed to slow down pigmentation.
Many cosmetic products use a traditional method which works on the upper layers of the skin. The innovation of the new PERFECTION-White Expertise Treatment lies in the fact that it works by modifying the pigmentation producing cells before the pigmentation process.
The PERFECTION-White Expertise Treatment has many benefits including the brightening of the complexion, an anti-ageing action with the ability to affect age spots and an anti-UV effect as Ericson Laboratoire has enriched PERFECTION fluids, creams and serums with protective sun screens and filters. They have an essential role in absorbing or reflecting UV rays and limiting their skin penetration. They therefore actively contribute to the prevention and reduced appearance of unsightly hyperpigmented marks.
