Cosmetic Surgery & Aesthetics Magazine investigates the YouLaser - a revolutionary new treatment which promises to create a firmer, fresher and more even complexion
If you, like many of us, dread looking into the mirror each morning and seek a miracle cure for the lines and wrinkles staring back, the YouLaser might just be the answer to your prayers.
Wanting to look younger is nothing new; man - or, more accurately, woman - has been searching for the elusive 'fountain of youth' for centuries. Whilst unfortunately the magical elixir still escapes us, in recent
years science has produced significant advances in anti-ageing technology and skincare formulations.
The Lynton Clinic in Cheadle - flagship clinic of UK-based aesthetic laser manufacturers Lynton - has found a solution to those unwanted lines. Their
YouLaser is a fractional carbon dioxide laser that promises to provide patients with a brighter, smoother complexion, without the need for surgery.
Combining the clinical results of traditional, ablative CO2 Lasers - long thought to be the gold standard in wrinkle removal - with the safety of non-ablative lasers, the YouLaser can produce dramatic results without the need for a prolonged recovery time.
It works as a complete anti-ageing procedure, tackling skin concerns such as deep wrinkles and sun damage at the same time as stimulating new collagen production.
Most patients require just one session, which takes less than an hour and only a mild heating sensation is felt. The results - a healthier and more vibrant skin
glow - are visible one to two weeks after treatment.
Mr Chris Duff, a Consultant at the Lynton Clinic explains: 'For some men and women the YouLaser offers a great alternative to surgery. It is convenient - often only requiring one treatment - with a quick recovery time. Essentially, you are getting all the benefits of laser resurfacing, still the best way to remove wrinkles, but without the long recovery time or risk of complications.
'The laser uses many little beams of light energy to produce miniature holes in the skin. Some of the old, unhealthy skin is removed and the body's own production of collagen is accelerated or put on fastforward, which improves skin elasticity and reduces lines and wrinkles.'
So if your wrinkles are getting you down, but you don't feel ready for the surgeon's knife just yet, the YouLaser could be the solution you've been looking for.
