Less is More

A history of fibroids had left Sandra with excess fat on her stomach and low self-esteem. Unwilling to resort to invasive surgery, she decided to try out a new body sculpting treatment, BodyTite, that has had amazing results and transformed her life

What prompted you to have the treatment?
I've always had a bit of a stomach - I have a history of fibroids, which I think has caused me to gain weight around my middle. I was only a size 14 but my stomach was always hanging over the top of trousers and skirts, which didn't make me feel very attractive.

Working in the medical field, I knew the risks of invasive surgery and didn't feel that my problem warranted such drastic action, so I did a bit of research on the internet, and came across a new procedure called BodyTite, which sounded great. It works by firming you up at the same time as removing fat, so you aren't left with loose skin.

Who carried out the procedure?
I went to see Dr Krish Nulliah at the Northern Clinic, who agreed that BodyTite would be a good option for me, as I was not a candidate for weight loss surgery and didn't want to undergo anything as invasive as liposuction or even SmartLipo.

He said I would see results after about four weeks and, if I wanted a flat stomach at the end of it, I should have both the upper and lower abdomen treated.

How was the experience?

It was a bit sore during the procedure - at times I did feel a sort of tugging sensation, but it was nothing I couldn't handle, and it only took about an hour, which is amazing when you consider the results. I had to take antibiotics and painkillers for one week after.

What were the immediate results?
The next day it was still a bit sore, and I had two dressings on each side, so I couldn't really tell what effect it had had. After ten days though I could see that the fat that usually hangs over my trousers had disappeared and my stomach was a lot smaller.

One month on, the results are amazing - I've dropped at least a dress size and everyone I know keep commenting on how well I look.

Are you happy with the treatment?
Definitely. I feel a lot happier within myself - when I look in the mirror I like the person I see looking back, and I'm looking forward to further improvements, as the beauty of this treatment is that the effects keep getting better and better for months after the initial procedure, provided you eat healthily and look after yourself, of course.
