What prompted you to have Vaser?

I have disliked my sagging jowls for a number of years. I have always been very sporty and was perfectly content with my body except for this area but when I finally stopped playing sport at a competitive level after 20 years, coupled with a very difficult time in my personal life, I let myself go bodywise, and became very self conscious.

I have always had a big, sporty frame, and the weight I put on made me look too masculine and much bigger than I actually was, which I hated. I lost over three stone two years ago, and returned to my old self both mentally and physically, except for the dreaded chin area.

With my 40th birthday coming up, when I was given the opportunity to have cosmetic surgery, I jumped at the chance.

What research did you do and why did you choose EF MEDISPA?

I first heard of Vaser through a national newspaper; it sounded like an ideal procedure for me so I looked into it further online. I looked at several chat sites about the procedure, the results and the places it can be done.

I chose EF MEDISPA, partly as they were in London so very accessible, and partly as I had seen recommendations that it was the best place to get it done.

How was the experience?

An excellent one; EF MEDISPA made the whole thing a personal experience at all times.

When I arrived on the day of the procedure, there were concerns about my blood pressure but they tried everything to calm me down and make me feel really comfortable, relaxed and like I was the only person that mattered. Needless to say, my blood pressure returned to normal before the procedure.

How long did your procedure take?

The actual procedure on my chin took about an hour but I was there for about three hours in all.

Did you have to take any medication afterwards?

I was given antibiotics which I was told was standard procedure. I had it done over the weekend as afterwards I was going to have to wear a headband for two days, but I was able to go back to work as normal on Monday.

Are you happy with the treatment?

I think the treatment was wonderful; it’s worked out really well. I feel great. I love looking at pictures of me now, admiring the work that was done. I feel much more at ease with myself and I can wear polo necks without being self conscious. My chin is much more defined and shapely.

I always said that I would never dye my hair when it started to go grey or have cosmetic surgery, but someone told me, “if you can afford it, and the opportunity is there, why not change elements of yourself you dislike”. It got me thinking and, maybe due to the huge change in my life a few years ago, I decided to go for it. Now I would say to anyone just to do it.

I was very sceptical in the past but it is so worth it. You only live once and you want to feel the best you can.
