MW Cosmetic Surgeons Rob Warr and Anthony MacQuillan explain their approach to body lift surgery:
After massive weight loss, skin laxity often takes the shine away from the achievement due to problems with appearance out of clothes, difficulties in getting clothes to fit and hygiene issues related to skin folds.

At MWCosmetic we adopt a comprehensive approach to address all aspects of skin laxity, if possible, in one go.

Abdomen, buttocks and thighs are lifted and tightened to correct skin laxity in the lower trunk, and arms and breasts or chest are reduced and lifted to firm up the upper half of the torso.

We always operate as a two surgeon team to reduce operative time and, where appropriate, produce a comprehensive solution in a single surgery.

Key factors in successful outcomes from post-bariatric surgery are strict attention to special surgical techniques (such as use of the deep tissue layers to reduce tension on skin edges), careful post operative management in a one-to-one nursing environment, and working with anaesthetists who are also trained in intensive care and used to dealing with patients with potential fluid, nutritional and salt imbalances.
