Barack Obama's sparkling smile could help him into the White House and then promote cosmetic dentistry across the globe, it has been claimed.
While a majority of those dental professionals surveyed in a new study by The Wealthy Dentist admitted that they would prefer a John McCain presidency as this would mean lower rates of tax, a significant proportion saw the benefits to their profession of the Democratic candidate winning the general election.
As one Georgia-based specialist concluded: "Because of his sensational smile, Obama would give cosmetic dentistry a boost by becoming president."
"An Obama presidency would be better for the country, and therefore better for dentists," added a California orthodontist.
"Whenever we become a more peaceful, productive society in the greater world, it is better for everyone."
At the same time, however, it was argued that McCain would help to stimulate the economy and would therefore give more people the confidence to spend on their appearance, spelling good news for all cosmetics professionals.
These findings come as Britons are being offered the chance to benefit from cosmetic dental treatments not available on the NHS through special clinics being set up by Hungarian professionals.
