Growing numbers of men are turning to liposuction as they invest in their personal appearance and wellbeing, experts have revealed.
Up until recently, demand for such invasive weight loss and toning procedures has been largely driven by women looking to stay in shape.
However, according to Dr Richard A D'Amico, president-elect of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, now men are joining the trend, with interest in all types of cosmetic surgery up all over the world.
"Surgery goes hand in hand with the rising trend of improving health and fitness. People are taking better care of themselves and want to look as good as they feel," he explained to Men's Fitness magazine.
What's more, the magazine's own expert added that liposuction can be even more beneficial for men than it is for women.
"Experts say male fat tends to be more localised and less stretched by things such as pregnancy, so if you do choose to go the surgical route, at least you can expect good results," Cora Daniels noted.
