The number of brides turning to cosmetic surgery before their big day is growing by 20 per cent each year, specialists in Australia have reported.
Mirroring a trend being seen all across the globe, surgeons in Sydney have revealed that it is no longer just celebrities or well-heeled urban socialites who are having work done prior to tying the knot, but instead a record number of suburban brides are also seeking help in order to look their best.
One recently-married Sydney woman, 39-year-old Stephenie Rodriguez, told Sydney's Daily Telegraph that she had laser treatment to give her skin a healthy glow as she walked down the aisle.
"I wanted to look good in the photos," she said.
"I know plenty of brides who have Botox and teeth whitening."
This comes soon after it was reported that brides in the US are increasingly taking their bridesmaids away on 'Botox party' weekends, with some even having breast augmentation or liposuction before they get hitched.
