Actress Demi Moore has strenuously denied ever having any plastic surgery to her face or body.
Despite looking years younger than 47 (the age she'll turn in November this year), Moore claims in an interview with a Parisian magazine that she has never been under the knife.
When asked about cosmetic surgery she told reporter Fabrice Gaignault: 'It's completely false - I've never had it done,' adding: 'But I would never judge those who have. If it's the best thing for them, then I don't see a problem.'
'On the other hand, I don't like the idea of having an operation to hold up the ageing process - it's a way to combat your neurosis. The scalpel won't make you happy.
'That said, the day when I start crying when I look at myself in the mirror might be the day when I'm less adamant about not having it done. For the moment I prefer to be a beautiful woman of my age than try desperately to look 30.'
Despite her claims, Demi has been beset with rumours of plastic surgery since her career took off. A dedicated fitness fanatic who has undergone gruelling exercise regimes for films such as GI Jane and Striptease, gossip about what cosmetic surgery work she'd had done stepped up a gear when she filmed Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle. The movie required Moore to be seen in a bikini and at the time it was suggested that she had spent over £200,000 on plastic surgery to look good for the role.
Evidence that she has gone under the knife seems overwhelming in spite of her protests. A friend of Demi's claimed in an interview in 2004 that she went to top doctor Brian Novack for her cosmetic surgery. The friend said: 'He's a fantastic surgeon and his clients don't look like they've had surgery.
'Demi can't stand it that there is part of her that is not perfect.'
Moore is rumoured to have had liposuction to her hips, thighs and stomach, a boob job and plastic surgery on her face. However, none of this has ever been proven and Demi herself continues to deny having any work done at all.
