Dannii Minogue claims Kylies Cancer Drove her to Botox RSS Feeds

In an interview with the Sun, Dannii Minogue has revealed that it was depression over her older sister's cancer that drove her to get repeated Botox injections.

Dannii - a singer and judge of Britain's popular X-Factor program - said that she felt so low at the time that she couldn't bear to look at her face. She tried Botox and then claims that after a while it became a 'necessity.'

Minogue, 37, said: "My sister was sick, then my best friend died soon after - I felt I'd been hit by a wave.

"I couldn't deal with the stress. I couldn't deal with having to look at my face.

"It was a personal thing of having to get through a lot of sadness.

"At first, it was something fun I tried, then it became a necessity."

However, Dannii goes on to say that since that dark period in her life she has gone on to combat her addition to Botox. In a recent interview with Grazia magazine the singer said that she would never have Botox again. She claimed that she was stopping because, as a judge of the X-Factor, she felt it was important to be able to show a full range of expressions. Botox famously 'freezes' the face, making natural expressions difficult.

In the interview, which was published in August this year, Minogue confessed "While I have been open about doing it before - I'm not doing it now."

She also spoke about mean comments people made about her, calling her "plastic" and "all Botox".

She added: "There is so much more pressure on women. If you can get older and be happier within yourself, that's the main thing."

These days Dannii says that she is very happy. Her career is going very well, her sister Kylie is healthy - and they are both in love. Dannii is dating Australian model Kris Smith and Kylie - who has also confessed to trying Botox in the past - is with Spanish model Andres Valencoso.
