If you thought that Louis Walsh looked a bit tired next to his glamorous, well-groomed co-presenters on the X-Factor, you are not alone. Apparently Louis himself has been concerned for some time that image-wise he needs an overhaul and has, by all accounts, been persuaded to undergo some cosmetic surgery.
Reports claim that Louis, 57, flew over to Los Angeles last week where he underwent a plastic surgery procedure in order to reduce the bags under his eyes. In addition, he also had some Botox injections to smooth out some of his wrinkles.
Sources told the Daily Mirror newspaper that Louis' X-Factor colleague and boss Simon Cowell managed to persuade the Irish band manager to have some cosmetic surgery so that he would look his best for the finals of the current series of the popular music audition show. Apparently Louis has been a bit concerned about his appearance for a while - especially with the X-Factor being such a high profile show - and readily agreed to have some plastic surgery work done so that he would look younger.
An insider on the ITV show said: "Simon has been badgering him for years and Louis finally succumbed."
Louis is not the only member of the X-Factor judging panel to have had whispers surrounding him concerning plastic surgery. Fellow judge Dannii Minogue recently told a magazine that she wouldn't be having any more Botox as she wanted to regain the full use of her facial muscles whilst on the show. She also admitted to have a boob job when she was younger.
In the past Simon Cowell has criticised plastic surgery for men, saying that it looks 'ridiculous' ad he would never have it done. However, he has owned up to having regular Botox injections.
The final member of the X-Factor judging panel - Cheryl Cole - says that she has never had plastic surgery or Botox and doesn't plan to as she is frightened of needles. However, she is happy to admit that her gleaming white teeth have had a little help from cosmetic dentistry.
In an interview with the Sun, Walsh said: "I might have my eyes done - upper and lower to get rid of the bags.
"Sooner rather than later - maybe before the live shows.
"Simon said, 'I'll organise it and you can stay with me afterwards.'
"I'll have to groom myself the Simon way."
