Former Playboy Playmate and ex-girlfriend of Hugh Hefner, Holly Madison, has the looks and body that many women would dream of. However, in a recent interview the 'Girls Next Door' star reveals that being Hef's girlfriend wasn't always great for her self-esteem.
Madison has had plastic surgery - including a nose job and a breast enlargement procedure - to enhance her looks, a fact that she has always been candid about. When talking about her pre-cosmetic surgery body she said: "I always stuffed my bra. In fact, I had a boyfriend for years, and we moved so slowly. We didn't have sex for a long time because I had to gradually bring down my bra size so he wouldn't find out I stuffed my bra!"
In an interview with Life & Style magazine, she speaks candidly about her plastic surgery and why she had it: "Plastic surgery made it easier for me to get things I wanted in my career. Without it, I wouldn't be where I am today... My nose photographed really big in front of my face. If I wanted to do anything in the entertainment industry, I needed to get it fixed. I was definitely happy with the results. It made me more confident. And a lot of doors open when you look a certain way."
However, despite the increased confidence and attention her plastic surgery brought her, Madison admits that being the girlfriend of famous Playboy founder Hugh Hefner wasn't great for her self esteem. In Life & Style she admits: "Living with Hef brought down my self-esteem a lot. I was comparing myself to the other girls... You have to look a certain way at the mansion. If you look at Hef's girlfriend now, she basically looks like a clone of me. It's kind of weird."
Madison also confesses that she might be tempted to have more plastic surgery after having children but adds that, until that issue arises, she's done with cosmetic enhancements for the time being: "I wouldn't consider more plastic surgery... And I'm scared of getting stuff [like Botox] put into my face. It makes you look like you have a rubber mask on. Beauty is truly on the inside. Looks don't define you - they're just a tool to get what you want."
