Nicole Kidman Criticised for Over-Use of Botox
Created on 10th October 2009
Actress Nicole Kidman was pictured out last week in New York - and her appearance did nothing to dispel the rumours that she has had Botox.
Kidman, 42, was attending a party at the Omega flagship store in Manhattan. Despite looking the picture of elegant glamour in her black dress and high ponytail, it was her forehead - and it's bizarrely smooth appearance - that drew most of the attention.
Nicole, the ex-wife of Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise, has always denied having Botox or any other form of cosmetic surgery, putting her youthful, unlined looks down to nature and staying out of the sun. In the past she has said: 'I have nothing in my face or anything.'
However, it seems that her protests have fallen on deaf ears as the Oscar-winner has been criticised in the past for over-doing the Botox. Famously, in 2008, Dr Martin Braun who runs the biggest Botox clinic in Canada, was scathing about Kidman's use of the treatment. He told a conference of medical experts that Nicole was so 'over Botoxed' that she was giving the industry and bad name.
He even went on to compare Ms Kidman's face to that of a bat, saying: "Nicole seems to get her Botox done two or three weeks before a big event, so when she for instance, goes up on stage to collect her Academy Award she looks frozen and strange,"
"She looks like a bat with too much of an (outer) brow lift. The middle of the brow's been dropped. She's crying when she accepts her Oscar, but nothing is moving."
"That's really doing nothing to help our job because we've got women coming to us saying: 'That's what we don't want to look like'," he said.
Sharon Osbourne also mocked Nicole's denials saying: 'Nicole Kidman's forehead looks like a ****ing flatscreen TV!
'How big is that forehead?'
Kidman, mother to Sunday Rose, was rumoured to have stopped using Botox during her pregnancy. However, if these photos are anything to go by, it would seem that since giving birth she has taken it up again.
