Arm Lift
The ageing process, which leads to skin losing its elasticity, and weight loss can lead to sagging tissue on the underside of the upper arm (commonly known as bingo wings). This can be treated by an arm lift or brachioplasty which involves skin and subcutaneous tissue being removed, giving patients a firmer, youthful look.
The surgical procedure takes approximately two hours and is done under general anaesthetics. Surgery does leave a noticeable scar as the body heals less well than the face. The scar usually goes from the armpit to the elbow and it can be reddish and knobbly during the first few months but should fade and become smoother over the next year. The scarring should be taken into account when considering this procedure.
Liposuction is another option.
