Breast Augmentation
Breast enlargement (or augmentation) is the most common cosmetic procedure in the UK. Surgery involves surgically inserting an implant to change the size and shape of the breast. Breast augmentation is a similar procedure but is usually conducted to create better symmetry.
Candidates are women who have naturally small breasts or are dissatisfied with the changed shape and size of their breasts after pregnancy, breast feeding or weight loss.
The breast implants are composed of a silicone rubber shell filled with either silicone gel or a salt-water solution known as saline. They come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes so it is crucial to take time to decide on the right implant for you. They can be inserted either between the skin and chest muscle or beneath the chest muscle depending on the patient's frame.
There are other breast augmentation options such as Macrolane, which is a hyaluronic acid filler that boosts the size of your breasts without surgery. It has also been claimed that fat transfer could be a successful alternative.
