Cosmetic Surgery Today: Everything You Wanted To Know About Cosmetic Surgery

Calf Implants

There are certain areas of the body which do not respond to regular exercise alone and many men and women are not happy with the shape of their calves.

A calf implant can increase the size and shape of the calf; men may be seeking to add bulk while women may wish to have more of an attractive contour to their lower legs. Calf implants are also useful in correcting problems such as polio, spina bifida and clubfoot.

An incision is made in the relevant area and a silicone implant is placed on top of the muscle. There are different sized implants depending on what effect you wish to create. The procedure usually takes place under general anaesthetic and surgery usually lasts up to two hours.
