Collagen
Collagen is a natural protein that is found throughout the body that provides texture and shape but with sun damage and ageing the loss of collagen is seen in the form of lines, wrinkles and sagging.
Injectable collagen is one way to reverse, temporarily, the signs of ageing as it can be used to fill out wrinkles and lines. Collagen is often used in injectable lip enhancement and lip augmentation, creating a ‘pout' effect that can last for months.
Collagen in human skin is very similar to collagen found in certain animals and collagen injections are based on either bovine or porcine collagen. One disadvantage of collagen is allergic reactions. Before having collagen injections you will need to have skin tests to determine if you are allergic which affects approximately 2 out of 100 people who receive collagen injections. Evolence which is made from porcine collagen require no pre-testing.
