Fillers
Dermal fillers are popular treatments for wrinkles and facial lines. Fillers helps to fill out and smooth away lines on the face, between the nose and mouth, forehead lines, frown furrows, lipstick lines, acne scarring and crow's feet. Dermal fillers are also effective for lip enhancement or adding volume to sunken cheeks or for minor nose reshaping.
There are many different types of dermal fillers on the market, both temporary and permanent, and it is important that you see a fully qualified and experienced medical practitioner.
Hyaluronic acid is found naturally throughout our body and HA fillers, such as Juvederm, Restylane and Teosyal, are clinically produced, usually from bacteria, and have a good safety record and are less likely to produce an allergic response. They last approximately six to twelve months.
Collagen fillers are produced from animal sources and it is necessary to have an allergy test. Another product growing in popularity is Sculptra which works differently to other dermal fillers in that it is a volumiser that stimulates the skin's own collagen production to thicken your skin and replace volume; it lasts longer than other dermal fillers.
