Inverted Nipple Correction
This is a surgical procedure to correct inverted nipples. These can look flat or appear as a slit like depression or hole and can cause both physical and emotional problems for women. Typically this surgery can be done under local anaesthetic.
Correction of inverted nipples depends on the problem. The surgeon will usually cut around the nipple so it is free from the surrounding tissue and stitches are placed to hold the nipple in the correct position until it heals. The milk ducts might have to be released which might affect your ability to breastfeed.
