Lip Enhancement
Lip enhancement aims to improve the appearance of the lips by increasing their fullness through enlargement; there are both permanent and temporary procedures available.
The commonest material used in temporary lip enhancement is collagen for which an allergy test is required, but recently hyaluronic acid (in the form of Juvederm or Restylane) has become increasingly popular with cosmetic doctors.
All these substances are reabsorbed into the body and need to be topped up. It is possible to have permanent implantation by injection but these can feel firmer than normal lip tissue and sometimes produce lumpy results and it is not possible for a patient to change their mind.
