Cosmetic Surgery Today: Everything You Wanted To Know About Cosmetic Surgery

Male Breast Reduction

Male breast reduction or gynaecomastia is a surgical procedure aimed at men with abnormal enlargement of the glandular tissue of the chest. Men are becoming increasingly self-conscious of their appearance and as a result this surgery is growing in popularity.

Fat or glandular tissue is removed from the breasts either through liposuction or surgery which will leave you with a flatter and more masculine shape to the chest. If the male breast overdevelopment is due to excess fat the surgeon can use liposuction where fat cells are broken down and suctioned out.

If the gynaecomastia is due to a glandular disorder then breast tissue might need to be removed. Incisions are made around the edge of the areola or in the armpits and glandular tissue is cut away and removed.
