What is Tear Trough Rejuvenation?
Operations to remove the bags under the eyes have been performed for many years but some people suffer from the opposite problem. As we age and lose soft tissue volume, trough-like hollows can appear in the crease where the cheekbone meets the under eye. It gives the appearance of marked dark circles and can be very ageing.
A surgical procedure in the form of a lower eyelid lift or blepharoplasty can treat very loose skin or pronounced eye bags but this won't necessarily be suitable for tear trough rejuvenation. Instead this is best treated with hyaluronic dermal fillers in a temporary non-surgical procedure.
Who's suitable for Tear Trough Rejuvenation?
An experienced practitioner will be able to deduce what is causing the appearance of the hollows and which treatment procedure is best for you.
What's the Tear Trough Rejuvenation treatment like?
A series of micro-injections of the dermal filler are placed along the line of the hollow and the practitioner usually gently massages the area to ensure the gel is evenly distributed.
What happens after Tear Trough Rejuvenation?
There is limited downtime as any bruising and swelling should subside within a few days. The effects of the injections will last six to twelve months before a repeat treatment is required.
Will I have a scar after Tear Trough Rejuvenation?
This treatment should not produce any scarring but if you are in anyway unhappy with the results then hyaluronic acid dermal fillers can be dissolved with an injection of an enzyme.
